He was predeceased by: his father John Lee Minter; and his brothers, Charles Chesney and Clyde Chesney. He is survived by: his son Michael Damian Minter (Suzanne Minter); his stepson Brandon Davis of Chicago; his mother Irene Minter of Fayetteville; his siblings, John Minter of Charlotte, Joseph Minter (Erwonna Foster) of Columbia, Sherri Minter of Charlotte, Lilly Minter (Dino Saunders) of Charlotte, Fanette McDuffie (Herbert) of Fayetteville and Darlene Murphy (Robert) of Charlotte; and his close friend Mary McGill. He is also survived by four sisters.
