He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Edward and Rosa Ray Davis; his former wife Alva Ray Davis; his wife Sally Ann Witt Davis; his sons, Douglas Earl Davis, James Charlie Triplett and Ray Triplett; his stepdaughter Paula Parker; and his sister Emma Ruth Davis.

He is survived by: his children, Linda Hartley of Ferguson and Everette M. Triplett, Jr. (Tammy) of Roaring River; his stepson Harvey Ray of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Jessica Hartley Wheeling (Michael), Christy Hartley Henderson (Chad), Kayla Hartley Jolley (Tyler) and Kevin Charles Hartley; his stepgrandsons, Michael Ray and Shane Ray; his great grandchildren, Tyler Wheeling (Morgan), Logan Wheeling, Gavin Wheeling, Savannah Webb (Ethan), Dalton Henderson, Emma Hartley, Cheyenne Jolley and Charlotte Jolley; his great great grandchild Aubree Webb; and his siblings, Swannie Davis Haigler of Hillsboro, Margie Davis Ray of Wake Forest, Ruby Davis Estes of Raleigh, Elaine Ray Lowery of Louisburg, Willie M. Ray of Florida, Charles L. Ray of Wendell and Harold Ray.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Beaver Creek Advent Christian Church (11665 NC-268, Ferguson, NC 28624). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
