He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Deweise Hamby and Annie Lou Cox Hamby; and his siblings, Wayne Hamby, Paul Hamby, Marshleen Billings, Judy Kilby and Barbara Bowlin.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Wingler Hamby; his son Brandon Hamby (Jeni) of Elkin; his granddaughter Charlotte; and his stepdaughter Susan Shell (Tim) of Hays. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren and 12 step- great grandchildren.
