He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Arrington Gooch; his children, Albert Gooch III (Tres) and Alyson Arrington Gooch; his son-in-law Bill Thorn; his son Victor Bubuioc (Christina); his grandchildren, Jeremiah Jackson Thorn, Caleb Alexander Thorn, Sarah Arrington Thorn, Sebastian, Sophie and Sydney Bubuioc; his sister Debra Gooch Ross; and his nieces and nephews, Anna Goff, Shelley McGlothin, James Arrington Goff, Jay Arrington, Mike Shepherd, Shay Shepherd, Wes Anthony and Brad Anthony.
He also served as a board member for IAM, Blue Ridge Community College Foundation, Land O' Sky, Compass Rose Society, NC Arts Council, and Moldova World Children's Fund.
