She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh; her parents, William Sherman (Bill) and Grace Marshall Sherman (Texie); her siblings, Joy Bell Jones, William Roy Sherman and Johnny L. Sherman; her great grandchildren, Harper Jade and Hannah Grace Sass; and her son-in-law Scott Conard.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rachel Conard of Hendersonville, NC, Glenda Sass (Tim) of Clyde, NC and Verlyn Owenby (Vince) of Fletcher, NC; her grandchildren, Kaitlin Moody (Dennis), Caleb Sass (Peyton), Bethany Kelly (James) and Justin Owenby (Aubrey); her great grandchildren, Brentley, Silas and Levi Sass; and her brother Troy Lee Sherman (Frances). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, brother and sister in laws and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Groce Funeral Home (72 Long Shoals Rd, Arden, NC 28704). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
