He was predeceased by: his parents, J. V. Brown and Betty Pruitt Brown; and his grandmother Effie Jones Brown. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Patterson Brown; his children, Lisa Brown Hardy (Mickey), Gary Brown, Jr. (Shannon) and Cindy Brown Staton (Josh); and his sisters, Carolyn Cox (Daniel), Rhonda O'Connor (Tom), Sheila Barnwell (Ricky) and Glenda Tankersley (Doug). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
