With sadness, we share the passing of John Riley Hensley in Flat Rock, North Carolina. John Riley, born on December 21, 1946 in Newberry, South Carolina, passed away on July 14, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Oksun Hensley; his daughter Karen Annette Hensley; and his siblings, Bobby Hensley, David Hensley and Marie Corral.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Speaker (AJ) of Flat Rock and Brian Hensley of Flat Rock; his grandsons, Stephen Roberts and Blake Ritchey; and his sister Inez Benison (Brenda Hensley) of Edneyville. He is also survived by the mother of his children, and lifelong friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Purple Heart Foundation, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), or to plant a tree in John's honor.
