He was predeceased by : his parents, Maurice R. Hyder and Helen Edmonds Hyder. He is survived by : his wife Haydee Magaoay; his siblings, Roger Hyder Evans (Margaret), Randy Hyder of Fletcher, NC and Gail Joyner (Mike); his nephew Keith Hyder Marshall (MaryAnne); and his sister Marcia Ann Hyder. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Salem United Methodist Church (7 Salem Church Rd, Weaverville, NC 28787).
