It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Billy Franklin Melton Sr. (Forest City, North Carolina), who passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Melton and Irene Bridges Melton; his sister Ruth Guffey Hollifiled; his brothers-in-law, Roy Guffey and George Hollifield; his sister Evelyn London; his brother-in-law Marshall; and his brother Steven Melton.
He is survived by: his grandson Matthew; his wife Evelyn Hill Melton; his son Billy Jr. (Lynn); his siblings, David Melton (Thelma) of Bostic, Jerry Melton (Ann) of Shelby, Carolyn Luckadoo (Charles) of Rutherfordton and Ann Russ (Wayne) of Waco, NC; and his siblings-in-law, Gay Melton of Shelby, Wanda Hill Tessniar of Caroleen and Lonnie Hill (Diane) of Greer, SC.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
I had just recovered from a serious bout of Covid and the doctor would not let me go out of the house alone.
