Carolyn Upton Obituary

With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carolyn Upton of Forest City, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Carolyn left this world on August 25, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover Tate and Mallie Hamrick Tate; her husband Paul Crowder Upton; her son-in-law Ronald M. Filer; and her siblings, Grover Hoyle Tate, Lucy Jane Tate Neal and Frances Tate Murray.

She is survived by: her daughters, Donna Upton Filer of Forest City and Paula Upton Bowen (Ricky Lee Bowen) of Forest City; and her grandchildren, Megan Upton, Mitchell Filer, Daniel Bowen and Jared Bowen. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
