He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Ruff and Mary Margaret Chandley Ruff; and his stepmother Blanche Sane Ruff. He is survived by: his siblings, Bruce Ruff of Forest City, Barbara Lail (Bruce) of Mooresboro and Rita Ruff of Spindale; his nephews, Derrick Lail (Julie) and Eric Lail (Brittany); his great-niece Aspen Lail; his great-nephew Grant Lail; and his pet Lovey.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Padgett & King Mortuary (227 E Main St, Forest City, NC 28043). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cool Springs Cemetery (382 W Main St, Forest City, NC 28043).
