She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Freeman and Sue Freeman; and her husband John "Floyd" Phillips. She is survived by: her son Scott Murray (Tracy); her grandchildren, Lauren Orr (Seth) and Garen Murray (Morgan); her great grandchildren, Shiloh, Ender, Arwen Orr, Creighton and Brewer Murray; and her siblings, Terri Freeman Couch and Tommy Freeman (Frances).
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McMahan's Funeral Home (249 S Main St, Rutherfordton, NC 28139).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frances's honor to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
