He is survived by: his children, Mary Jane Powell-White of Winston-Salem, Betty Jo Hawkins (Gerard) of Elkton and Jerry Lee Powell, Jr. of Forest City; his siblings, Mary Elizabeth Lawter, Anna Sue Jones, Glen Edwards Powell, Johnny Russell Powell, Larry Joe Powell and Robert Benton Powell; his grandchildren, David Hodges, Jennifer Hodges Begin and Stephanie Wileman; and his great grandchildren, Kendal Hodges, Harvyn Begin, Meyer Begin and Aurbrie Bowden.
