He was predeceased by: his parents, James Arthur Blanton and Anne Blackburn Blanton; his wife Kay Roberson Blanton; his son Jaime Blanton; and his son-in-law John Grant, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughter Shelley Blanton Grant of Forest City; his daughter-in-law Gail Blanton of Easley, SC; his siblings, June Stitzel of Forest City, Patricia Harrelson (Harry) of Forest City, Connie Toney (Darrell) of Bostic and Dr. Sammy Blanton (Wanda) of Forest City; his grandchildren, James Grant (Hannah) of Charlotte, William Grant (Sarah) of Denton, NC and Shannon Allen (David) of Easley, SC; and his great grandchildren, Holden Grant, Merritt Grant, Webb Grant, Atlas Grant and Londyn Allen.
