He was predeceased by: his parent Charles Warren "Buck" Whisnant. He is survived by: his parent Wynelle Greene Whisnant; his wife Teri Carlton Whisnant; his children, Lauren Whisnant, Rebecca Whisnant, Gayla Silvers, Chelsea Rush and Marty Silvers; his sisters, Pam Whisnant Harrill (Tony), Tracy Whisnant Davis (Steve) and Dianne Whisnant Lurie (David); his grandchildren, Jaiden Silvers, Devin Silvers, Azlyn Silvers, Makalyn Silvers and Memphis Silvers; and his nephews, Tyler Harrill, Adam Lurie, Jay Lurie and Paul Davis.
