He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Freeman Henson and Nellie Smart Henson; his sister Stephanie Joy Henson; and his grandparents, Martin Bedford Smart and Fannie Mae Smart.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Henson; his sister Janice Harmon (Ron); his children, Stacy Henson, Heather Greene (Brian) and Samuel Henson (Samantha); his grandchildren, Zachary Henson, Austin Beheler (Ashley), Matthew Greene, Alexander Greene, Samantha Henson and Dakota Henson; and his great grandchild Scarlett Beheler.
