He was predeceased by: his parents, Fate Patton Butler and Sadie Ruth Smith Butler; and his siblings, Charles, Bobby, Joe, Jackie, Max and Ann Butler.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda; his children, Melissa Childress (late Terry Childress) of Boiling Springs, SC, Rodney Butler (Tammy) of Spartanburg, SC and Travis Butler (Jessica); and his grandchildren, Brandon Davis (Ashley), Matt Davis (Julia), Whitney Butler, Allye Williams (Kris), Taylor Edwards (Evan), Carolyne, Chloey and Cathan.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church (397 Mt Pleasant Church Rd, Forest City, NC 28043). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Agape Care Group, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 336 Hudlow Road, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
