He was predeceased by: his parents, Frady Dunn and Estelle Browning Dunn; his former wife Alice Ruth Dunn; and his siblings, Paul Dunn, Ervin Dunn and Margie Dunn Lassiter.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Purvis Dunn; his children, Mike Dunn (Carmen) of Four Oaks and Deborah Dunn Tueting (Harry) of Raleigh; his stepson Rodney Benson of Four Oaks; his grandchildren, Scott Dunn (Samantha Brown), Eddie Dunn (Amber), Ross Elam (Lucy), Alice Ann Elam, Jordan Benson (Shelley) and Lance Benson; his great grandchildren, Eliza, Wes Elam, Addie and Hayden Dunn; and his siblings, Carolyn Dunn of Wilmington, Ira Dunn (Judy) of Princeton, Ernie B. Dunn of Greenville, TN and Jean Dunn Edwards (Wayne) of Four Oaks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
