She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Short Beal and Lewis Walter Beal, Sr.; her husband William G. Wortham, Sr.; her son Charlie Allen Brown; her stepson William "Billy" Graham Wortham, Jr.; and her siblings, Bruce Beal, Lewis Walter Beal, Jr., Frank Furman Beal, John Newcomb Beal, Betty Jean Hope, Mildred Evelyn Jackson and Mary Ann Allison.
She is survived by: her son Hartwell Keith Brown of Easley, SC; her sister June Gail Overby; and her stepdaughters, Deborah W. Mattocks of Myrtle Beach, Patricia W. Hintz of New Berlin, WI and Barbara W. Caton of Henderson. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the J. M. White Funeral Home (60 Zeb Robinson Rd, Henderson, NC 27536). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of J. M. White Funeral Home (60 Zeb Robinson Rd, Henderson, NC 27536).
