It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Sue Allen of Franklin, North Carolina, who passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alex Hopper and Maggie McDowell Hopper; her daughters, Sandra Zimmerman and Teresa Allen; and her siblings, Mable Gregory, Cora Henry, Mary Rose Helton and Troy Hopper.
She is survived by: her husband John V. Allen; her siblings, Wanda Pritchett, Floyd Hopper (Alice), Roy Hopper (Patty) and Harvey Hopper (Cheryl); her brother-in-law Hoyt Helton; and her grandsons, Mark Zimmerman (Alicia) and Ryan Zimmerman (Steph). She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or Four Seasons Hospice of Franklin.
