Charlene leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Charlene’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Charlene will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Slemenda and Johanna Slemenda; and her husband Robert K. Wenger. She is survived by: her children, Lora Booher (Brad) of Wyoming, MI, Janette "Jan" Wenger (Pep) of Franklin, NC and Robert K. Wenger, Jr. (Bobby) of Franklin, NC; and her brother Charles Slemenda of Wallace, NC. She is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holly Springs Baptist Church (366 Holly Springs Church Rd, Franklin, NC 28734). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charlene's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org) or to Holly Springs Baptist Church.
