Cheryl Harkness Obituary
We announce the death of Cheryl Harkness (Franklin, North Carolina), who passed away on June 15, 2026, at the age of 78. Cheryl will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Thompson and Lois Smith Thompson; her husband Errol "Pete" Wentworth Harkness; her brothers, Craig Allan Thompson and Robert Thompson (Bobby); and her great grandchildren, Shannon and Bryen Harkness.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Robert Harkness (Maria) of Altamont, FL, Kathleen Thelma McGrath (Eric) of Sugar Hill, GA and Karen M. Robbins (Eddie) of Franklin, NC.; and her sisters, Lynne Lucas (Murphy) and Janice Nancarrow. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Macon County Senior Center or Four Seasons Hospice.
