It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Hughes of Franklin, North Carolina, born in Macon, North Carolina, who passed away on July 19, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Willard L. Dean and Josephine R. Rogers Dean; and her husband James "Jim" Hughes. She is survived by : her daughter June Huggins Angel (Doug) of Franklin; her sister Shirley Dean Ray (Bill) of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Jennifer Anderson (Ryan) and Rodney Chastain (Lance); her stepgranddaughter Shannon Shuler (Eugene); and her great grandchildren, Seth Shuler, Brittany Shuler, Clara Anderson and Sophia Anderson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
