She was predeceased by: her parents, Jewel Smith and Gertrude Hall Smith; her brother Terry "Tom" Smith; her brothers-in-law, Gordon Baker and Clem Henry; her nephew Benji Baker; her stepsister Judy Wyatt; and her stepmother Louise Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Willie "Billy" Hughes; her daughters, Jerri Lequire (Vester), Sherrie Rankin and Terri Tallent (Gary); her grandchildren, Blake Sheffield (Becca), Jake Tallent (Lindsay), Jared Tallent (Chelsey), Megan Keener (Jonathan) and Jonathan Lequire (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Aislynn Wyatt (Luck), Joshua Keener, Isaac Keener and Xavier Lequire; her siblings, Juanita Baker, Linda Henry, Bill Smith, Pam Ledford (Steve) and Jackie Beck (Larry); and her caregivers, Pauline and Jackie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Burningtown Baptist Church or Four Seasons Hospice.
