He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel W. Farrell and Nora E. Scott Farrell; his former life partner Joyce Frances Switzer Farrell; his son Norman "Wes" Farrell, Jr.; his stepson Duane Wantland; his siblings, Jerry Farrell and Sharon Long; and his grandson Chad Oakley.
He is survived by : his wife Rose Kendrick Farrell; his daughters, Debra Scarborough (Scott) of Belmont, NC and Paula Medford (Paul) of Gastonia, NC; and his stepchildren, Sandra Oakley (Jim) of Chesapeake, VA, John Wantland (Judy) of Dallas, TX, John Payne (Ginger) of Franklin, NC and Sadie Chapman (Donald) of Franklin, NC.. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
