He was predeceased by: his father Robert T. Bell; and his brother Norman E. Bell. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Holbrooks Bell; his children, David Donald Bell of Greensboro, NC and Robin Bell Doolittle (Mark) of Franklin, NC; his grandchildren, Jordan Pickens (Daniel Reid) of Franklin, NC, Cade Doolittle (Leela Boatright) of Phoenix, AZ and Chase Doolittle (Sloan Shawgo) of Franklin, NC; his great grandchild Delaney Reid; his siblings, Jake Bell of Candler, NC and Ruth Bell Shaffer of Candler, NC; and his niece Lucy Shaffer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
