He was predeceased by: his parents, William Julius and Edna Spires Lopes. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Williams Lopes; his son Preston Lopes; his stepchildren, Stephanie Tice, Stephen Tice and Elizabeth Ewing (Brandon); and his sisters, Deborah Jacobs, Glenda Kelly and Stephanie Stiles (Chris). He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
