He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Lee Watkins and Allie Thomas Newton Watkins; his nephews, Craig Watkins, Eddie Watkins and Kevin Newcomb; and also Thomas Edward Watkins.

He is survived by : his wife Jean W Watkins; his sister Linda Newcomb; and his caregivers, Emma F Perry, Martha Overby, Rhonda Schwarze and Ruby Hesler.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Banks Methodist Church - PO Box 1276, Creedmoor NC 27522.
