Karen Eason Kearney Obituary
Karen Eason Kearney, 56, of Franklinton, North Carolina, passed away at her home on July 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Karen was born on August 18, 1969, to Imogene Gay Eason and the late Edward "Eddie" Eason. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Karen's kindness, warmth, and caring heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, Gary A. Kearney; her son, Justin Kearney and his husband, Rodney Thomas; her beloved grandchildren, Johnathon and Sebastian; her mother, Imogene Gay Eason; and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Karen loved spending time with her family and especially treasured her role as "Memaw" to Johnathon and Sebastian. She enjoyed cooking and found great joy in preparing meals for the people she loved. She also loved spending time at the beach and the lake, where she made many happy memories with family and friends. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and beautiful smile will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Friends and family will be received from 1:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m with Reverend Carl Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support, particularly her hospice team, during this difficult time and asks that Karen be remembered for the kindness and love she shared with all who knew her.
