Lawrence Edmund Lanier Obituary

Lawrence Edmund Lanier, 59, of Franklinton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1967 to the late James and Katherine Lanier in Baltimore, Maryland.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Janice Watkins; his sister, Norma L. Evans and husband Craig; his brother, James Bruce Lanier Jr. and wife Pat; and his nieces, Shelby Pena and husband Michael, Teresa Morris and husband Greyson, and Kristin Lanier.

Lawrence graduated from Franklinton High School in 1985. After graduation he went on to work for his father at Union 76 Service Station, where he quickly became one of the best auto mechanics around for many years. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical and loved hunting and fishing.

A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
