Lillian Elliott Obituary

Lillian Elliott, 78, passed away on June 19, 2026 at Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson, NC. Lillian was born on October 28, 1947 to the late James David and Gladys Godsey Brankley. Lillian was preceded in death by her uncles Harold Brankley (Barbara), Willie "Bill" Brankley (Joanne), Henry Brankley (Anges), Thomas Brankley (Barbara), Robert Branley (Ruby), and Bobby Godsey (Gladys), as well as her aunts Martha "Polly" Sodat (Luther), and Adelaide Brankley.

Lillian is survived by her daughter Kimberly Elliott (Johnathan), grand-dog Abel "C.P.B.A" Elliott. Her brother James Michael Brankley "Mike" (Dee). As well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and step-grandchildren. As well as many friends.

Family meant everything to Lillian. She was formerly married to a man who had four children: John Elliott (Gail), Steve Elliott, Stephanie Smith (Doug), and David Elliott (Elizabeth), who she embraced as her own and raised without a second thought. Together they were later blessed with a daughter, Kimberly, who brought great joy to her life.

Lillian dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked for many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later went into being a Hospice CNA; where she compassionately cared for patients and their families during some of life's most difficult moments. Her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit touched countless lives.

Her caring nature extended beyond her profession. When her own mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Lillian lovingly became her caregiver, providing comfort, dignity, and unwavering devotion throughout her mother's illness.

Later in life, Lillian was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease herself. As her illness progressed, she moved in with her daughter, Kimberly, who lovingly cared for her with the same compassion and devotion that Lillian had freely given to others throughout her life. Her daughter was honored to care for her in her final years, returning a lifetime of love, devotion and care.

Lillian will be remembered for her selfless heart, unwavering strength, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of compassion and service will live on in the many lives she touched. Her life was defined by compassion, selflessness, and an unwavering love for family. Whether caring for patients, supporting loved ones, or offering a listening ear, she gave herself freely and without hesitation.

Though she is no longer with us, the compassion and love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Flowers are welcomed and may be sent to Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel. Also, memorial donations may be made to an Alzheimer's organization in her memory. The family deeply appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.

Friends and family will be received from 6:30 - 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Lancaster's Franklinton Chapel, 504 E. Mason St. Franklinton, NC 27525.
