Onda Frank Kearney Obituary

Mr. Onda Frank Kearney, 80, of Franklinton, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 2, 1946 to the late Onda S. and Susie Hart Kearney in Franklin County, NC.

In addition to his parents, Onda is preceded in death by his sister, Diane Smith.

Onda is survived by his wife, Mary Smith Kearney; his son, Walt Fuller (Lynda); his daughter, Marquita Fuller Pearce; his son, Onda Frank Kearney Jr. (Lori); six grandchildren, Terry Pearce (Melissa), Courtney Shephard, Will Fuller, Ryan Fuller (Georgia), Trey Kearney (Cameron), Victoria Christiano (Vincent); eight great-grandchildren, Michael Pearce (Emily), Joshua Pearce, Brayden Pearce, Makayla Shephard, Colton Shephard, Braxton Kearney, Layton Kearney, Leo Christiano, Violet Christiano; one great-great-grandchild, Madelyn Grace Pearce; a brother, Gary Kearney (Kathy); sisters, Betty Clark, Linda Strother, Sheila Smith and Rose Kearney, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Onda served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Franklinton, and worked with Franklinton Fire Department and Franklinton Rescue & EMS. He retired with over 25 years of service from Mallenckrodt. Onda was married to the love of his life Mary for 59 years. He loved his family and his grandchildren and will be missed tremendously by everyone who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends and visitors on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 1245 Mt. Olivet Church Rd, Franklinton NC. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00pm at the church and will be officiated by Rev. Carl Hunter. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
