She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Best and Carrie Armwood Best; her daughter Geral Everlean Holmes Hamilton; and her siblings, William, James, Lee Harvey, Paul, Silas, Mary, Martha, Luther, Roxie, Mathew, Carrie and Winnie.
She is survived by: her children, James Morris Holmes of Wilson, Ava Holmes Pleasant of Greensboro and Mirriam Holmes Locus (Robert) of Fremont; and her son-in-law Prince Charles Hamilton of Fremont. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; her great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
