She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Aubrey Marks and Florine Robbins Marks; her son-in-law Julian B. Nelms; her brother Charles A. Marks (Charlie); and her sister-in-law Sandra Marks.
She is survived by: her daughter Gwynne of Fremont; her grandchildren, Boyd Nelms, Lee Nelms of Fremont and Ashley Nelms Smith (Adam); her great grandchildren, Aubrey Claire Smith and Avery Gray Smith of Grantham; her son Dr. H. L.'Whit'Whitley, Jr.; her daughter-in-law Candice Irvin Whitley of Washington, NC; her grandson Wyatt Stewart Whitley (Kori); her great grandchildren, Charlie Wynn Whitley and Wells Stewart Whitley of Greenville, NC; her grandson Benton Marks Whitley of Brooklyn, NY; and her nephew C. A. "Chuck" Marks (Nina).
