He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bass Jr. and Rachel Worley Bass; his sister Janice Cooke; and his son-in-law Dean Bass. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Williams Bass; his daughters, Penny Ortega (Gilbert) and Carrie Matthews (Derek); his grandchildren, Hunter, Christlynne, Cyleigh and Cadie; and his sisters, Pat Alford and Tammie Beasley. He is also survived by several brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home (102 N Pine St, Fremont, NC 27830). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 at the Elmwood Cemetery.
