We announce the death of David Lewis Onofrio of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 79. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. David will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. David’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Onofrio and Connie Onofrio; and his wife Anne Onofrio. He is survived by: his son Andrew Onofrio of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Isabella, Gabryel and David; and his daughter Jannette Cary-Wellman of Hannibal. He is also survived by seven brothers and sisters and a host of nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel (401 N Ennis St, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernadette Catholic Church (1005 Wilbon Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). The inurnment was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at the same location.
