He was predeceased by: his parents, James Davis and Elza Carter Davis; and his sister Carnell Lawrence. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Davis; his son James Davis of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Mia Davis, Caleb Davis and Portside Davis of Wilmington; his sister Gloria Blanchard of Fuquay-Varina; and his family, Angie and Terry Greer.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens (905 Wake Chapel Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526).
