It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Mark Buchanan (Fuquay Varina, North Carolina), who passed away on September 28, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Stephen leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Stephen may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his parents, Hugh Buchanan and Kay Buchanan of Fuquay-Varina; his siblings, Penny Goodman (Eddie) of Willow Spring, Kim Cotten (Jeff) of Fuquay-Varina and Chris (Kathy) of Holly Springs; and his siblings' children, Joseph, Philip Cotten, Mac Goodman and Katie Bellopatrick. He is also survived by four great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home (401 N Ennis St, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
