He was predeceased by: his parents, Brantley Blanchard and Lessie Hillard Blanchard; his wife Betty McGee Blanchard; and his siblings, Charles, Rudolph Blanchard, Emily Adams, Cora Lee Tysinger and Charlotte Jean Blanchard.

He is survived by: his children, Richard Blanchard (Cathy) of Fuquay-Varina, Vicky Atwood of Rock Hill, SC and Teena Searcy (Craig) of Fuquay-Varina; and his sister Dorothy Page of Lillington. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the hospice organization of your choice.
