He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Ashworth and Cornelia Ashworth; his wife Jane Beasley Ashworth; and his siblings, Evelyn A. Smith, Frances A. Senter, Thomas R. Ashworth, Charles T. Ashworth and Jimmy B. Ashworth.

He is survived by: his siblings, Ralph H. Ashworth, Max E. Ashworth (Betty) and Mollie A. Stephenson; and his sister-in-law Ida J. Ashworth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Fuquay-Varina: 402 N. Main St., Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
