She was predeceased by : her parents, Gertrude Willis and William Willis; her spouse Canady Americus Smith; her siblings, Elizabeth Scott, Geraldine Davis, William Turner and Thomas Willis; and her stepchildren, Canady Americus Smith, Jr. and Larry Smith.

She is survived by : her children, Thomas Smith (Nancy), Cornelia Johnson (Mitch), Gene Smith and Charles Smith (Tonya); her stepchildren, Madalene Melvin, Evelene Hicks, Herman Smith (Flossie), Rabon Smith and Dwight Smith (Faye); her grandchildren, Candy Smith, Curtis Smith, Julie Beth Smith (Joseph), Jena Boone (David), Amanda Jernigan (Kyle) and Allison Darrow (Matthew); her great grandchildren, Maggie Smith, Constance Smith, Trent Smith, Abby Jernigan, Beckett Boone of Lilah Darrow, A. J, Shayleigh Jernigan, Harper Boone, Colt Darrow, Davian Jernigan and Sutton Rufty; and her great great grandchildren, Brielle and Ayla Carr. She is also survived by step grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Beards Chapel Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, May 16th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Smith Cemetery (831 Mote Rd, Harrells, NC 28444).
