He is survived by: his wife Shannon Smith Pate; his children, Nathan Pate (Hannah), Connor Pate and Kristen Pate; his parents, Wayne Pate and Joette Smith Pate; his sister Rita Pate Coffey (Mike); and his uncle William R "Toot" Cain.
