He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Shepard; his children, Darren Shepard (Debra), Andrea Offley (Leon) and Franklin Miller (Robin); and his sister Sudora Shepard. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Amanda Baptist Church (457 Old Drug Store Rd, Garner, NC 27529). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Montlawn Memorial Park (2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603).
