He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Caviness Sr. "Bob" (Caviness) and Mary L. Simmons; his brother Robert L. Caviness, Jr.; and his stepson Timothy Kirkpatrick. He is survived by: his wife Diane Hearne Caviness; and his children, Chris Caviness and Catherine Caviness Roberts. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren.
