She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Barefoot and Mary Ann Barefoot; her husband Calvin Penny; and her brother Keith Barefoot. She is survived by: her daughters, Susan DeJarnette (Randy) and Meredyth Wimberly; her grandchildren, Jennifer DeJarnette, Kristyn DeJarnette and Haleigh Wimberly; her great grandchildren, Olivia DeJarnette, Ivy West, Lucas Kalapati and Isabella Simpkins; her great great grandchild Colson Tavares; her siblings, Clyde Barefoot (Gail), Phil Barefoot, Dianne B. Wood and Sharon Rose Burnette (Bill); and her sister-in-law Margie Barefoot.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home- Garner (1200 Benson Rd, Garner, NC 27529). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
