She was predeceased by: her parents, Emily Susan Whitehurst and Johnny Morris Whitehurst; her children-in-law, Vicky Jones Potter and Joel Zimmerly; and her brother-in-law Robert Gregory.
She is survived by: her husband Vernon Earl Potter, Sr.; her children, Vernon Earl Potter, Jr. of Spring Hope, NC, Charles Wesley Potter (Jane Marshburn Potter) of Roseboro, NC, Margaret Potter Abbott (Ronald Terry Abbott) of Oak Island, NC and Patricia Potter Zimmerly; and her sisters, Maxine Bates (Rocky) and Josephine Gregory. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
