He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Lee Bunting and Mary Webb Bunting. He is survived by: his wife Frances Lee Bunting; his children, Pamela Moore (Wayne) of Raleigh, Teresa Mackay (Chris) of Youngsville and Bill Bunting (Sara) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Moore, Taylor Moore and Alex Mackay; and his sister Nancy Sawyer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in his memory to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
