She was predeceased by: her parents, Pritchard Pearson Smith and Dora Humphrey Smith; her former husband Herman Campbell; her husband William D. Lewis (Bill); and her siblings, Sarah Atkinson, Charles B. Smith and Pritchard Smith.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy Walters (Larry) of Gastonia, NC and Jane Murray (Larry) of Wilmington, NC; her stepdaughter Sulou Rose of Weaverville, NC; her grandchildren, Amy Holt (Zach) of Moseley, VA, Lauren Haber (Eric) of Charlotte, NC and Stacey Torres of Wilmington, NC; and her nieces, Jo Anne Sarli and Ann Mauro. She is also survived by cousins, great nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Fairmont (606 Church St, Fairmont, NC 28340). A burial was held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at the Fairmont Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 606 Church Street, Fairmont, NC 28340, or to the First United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 190 East Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
