With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Arthur Hartung of Gastonia, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 17, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Arthur leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Arthur may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Fail Hartung; his sons, Christopher E. Hartung (Barb) of Pittsboro and Philip Hartung of New Braunfels, Texas; and his stepdaughters, Kelly Easterling Van Sickle (Andrew Van Sickle) of Hickory and Erin Obrien (Eric) of Weddington, NC. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren.
