Carl Simms Jr. Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 7, 2026, at the age of 78, Carl Simms Jr. of Gastonia, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hood Simms, Sr. and Alda Holland Simms; and his brother-in-law Jerry Broome. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Sutton Simms; his daughters, Angela Kemp (Frank) and Meredith McMillan (Ben); his sister Louise Broome; his grandchildren, Lindsay Clontz (Josh), Morgan Kemp, Cooper McMillan and Kendall McMillan; and his great grandchildren, Farrah Clontz, Malachi Clontz and Oakley Clontz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
